^ The project “Kalevala Heroes” (2006-2008)
Aim of the project is developing new methods of teenagers’ social adaptation who are at a difficult situation in life. The project is based on idea that adventure programme and ecological activity let teenagers at risk give up bad habits and fulfill themselves.
After successful trying out for the project (two-, three-day departure) participants sign a treaty. Children take following responsibilities: not to commit a violation of the law, not to take alcoholic drinks and to use drugs, not to break school rules, to visit any children association, to make 3 good deeds.
The main project event is a summer camp where children teams that have tried out live on islands, take part in ecological, labor, adventure activity and fight for title “hero” – a man who could bring the biggest number of points to the team.
Reward for teenagers who could pass the project and fulfill terms of the treaty becomes fascinating trip to the “Land of Kalevala” – to Finland and Sweden.

For this money they got opportunity to “buy” participation in activities and trips.
